Poreč

Poreč lies on a narrow peninsula, which is protected by the offshore small island of Sveti Nikola. Together with neighboring and partly integrated municipalities, it forms the largest and most diverse tourist center in Istria.

Porec has two large and safe marinas with numerous services and facilities. Marina Porec with over 100 berths is located south of the old town. Even further south is the Marina Partentium with over 150 berths.

Water sports possibilities on almost every beach. In the Zelena Laguna there are boat rentals and windsurfing offers and you can go water skiing and wakeboarding. Several diving schools offer guided dives and services. Porec offers beautiful fishing spots for anglers, but only with a fishing license and for sport fishermen fishing trips on the sea.

Other attractions include Aquacolors water park, Aquapark Istralandia and Dinopark Funtana. For climbing friends the adrenaline park and for caving the Baredine cave.

The Plava Laguna and the Zelena Laguna offer idyllic paths for hiking or walking. The area around Porec offers a well-developed network of cycle paths.


The area was settled very early, as is shown by finds from the Neolithic and the Bronze Age.

The most famous attraction of Poreč is the Euphrasian Basilica in the northern part of the peninsula and the complex of church buildings surrounding it.


The Trg / Piazza Marafor is a small square with the remains of Roman temples. The original Roman paving of the square was preserved and is visible in some places. To the west of the park at the end of the main street Decumanus are the remains of two Roman temples.

There are several Gothic buildings along the Decumanus Corso on Trg Matije Gupca, such as the Gothic building complex, the Zuccato Palace, where there is now an art gallery, and two other buildings from the 15th century.
